Are Wolves describe themselves. Of bands that are currently
active,these guys are in my top 5. They have a unique sound for a three
piece. One guy plays old analogs synths, on guys switches between bass
and guitar and a third plays the standing drums. Together they produce
upbeat dancy music which should have drawn more than 12 people at their
last show at the Larmier Lounge. Anyway, judge for yourself:

Also I came across some of Omar Rodriguez Lopez's solo stuff (the guitar
player from Mars Volta/At The Drive In). It's still very much like Mars
Volta, but with a different (less terse) singer. I think Omar may be
too serious for his own good, but there are some well crafted songs here
anyway:
